5th General Assembly of the Alliance for Zero-Emission Aviation (AZEA)
CENA Hessen presents analysis of electricity and hydrogen supply at airports at the 5th General Assembly of AZEA

The future of aviation starts now!
This week, almost 200 stakeholders from the entire aviation ecosystem came together at Eurocontrol in Brussels for the 5th General Assembly of the Alliance for Zero-Emission Aviation (AZEA). Our common goal: to drive forward the European Green Deal. This time, the EU working group focused on two central topics: The development of a roadmap for zero-emission aviation and the presentation of the work plan for 2025-2026.
In this context, we were able to present the initial results of our analysis of the current regulatory situation regarding the supply of electricity and hydrogen to airports for refueling battery and hydrogen-powered aircraft. While the electricity infrastructure is already established and planning for gaseous hydrogen is making progress, the use of liquid hydrogen still poses a particular challenge. We are addressing this issue in an AZEA Working Group, which we are co-chairing.
Stay tuned: We will inform you as soon as the analysis is published.
